Ministry of Economy issues a study on the development of prices during September and October

UAE Ministry of Economy (MoE) has issued a study on the development of commodity prices in the UAE for the month of September and October 2008.

This study highlights the status of prices and contributes in raising the awareness of the consumers to select the retail outlets that have lower prices.

Dr Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Economy, said that the main aim of this study is to compare between the prices of commodities and to enhance the competition between the retail outlets.

The study mentioned that dairies prices have been reduced by 0.3% and basic commodities were reduced by 0.3 % during October compared to September. The vegetables prices increased by 1.4%, fish and meat prices also increased by 0.2% and other commodities were increased 0.1%, detergents were increased by 2.2% compared to September. Fruits prices were stable during September and October 2008.
