The impressive, solid third quarter performance underscores Optoma as one of the leading projector vendors in the region. Optoma has achieved close to 7% market share across the Middle East & Africa market for Q3 with the company anticipating even further growth in sales for Q4 of 2008 and beyond.
Adam Dent, Territory Manager for Optoma Middle East & Africa, comments:
"Our impressive growth in sales directly correlate to the increase in demand from the local market, specifically in KSA where we are currently enjoying double digit growth with our projector sales and over 15% market share. We are seeing major interest in our innovative, high-definition projector solutions, in particular our Home Cinema projectors which have been in constant demand."
"In addition, our data entry level projectors are being chosen by some of the most reputable & established organizations within key vertical sectors including Education & Hospitality," he added.
Optoma's recent participation at one of the world's biggest IT events, Gitex Technology Week, saw the official Middle East launch of the world's smallest projector, the Optoma 'Pico.' To date, the new 'Pico' has received great interest with phenomenal feedback from visitors, creating an extended record of potential buyers.
Since entering the Middle East in 2006, Optoma continues to establish itself as one of the fastest growing regional players achieving continuous growth year on year. Markets across the region grew by just over 55% in the first half of 2008 compared with the first half in 2007; at the same time Optoma's sales grew by 125%. Optoma has since climbed from 6th place DLP vendor in 2007 to 3rd place in the first half of 2008 & 2nd place in Q3 of 2008.
Optoma will continue its dedication to the local market as it seeks to expand its local operation with dedicated in-country staff, and having established new websites (www.optoma.ae and www.picoprojector.ae), while providing a wide range of projectors to businesses and consumers in key markets across the region.
