Man Investment Products hosts Hedge Funds workshop for Gulf Bankers and Investors
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, February 01 - 2003 at 12:22
- PRESS RELEASE
The Hedge Funds World Conference will kick off with a pre-event workshop on Monday, hosted by Man Investment Products for over 50 investors from banks, financial institutions, pension funds, family businesses and others.
Antoine Massad, Associate Director and Head of Middle East & Asia at Man Investment Products said: "If you look at investment trends over the past few years, you will notice that the blueprint of a successful portfolio has almost always included hedge funds. Investing a part of your portfolio in hedge funds which have a long track record will help minimise the risks that your traditional investments may face."
"Being one of the global leaders in the hedge funds industry, it is our objective to support know-how and transparency in the industry," he continued." This workshop is an ideal opportunity for investors to obtain reliable information on hedge funds in a focused and personalized format."
Today this is true more than ever, with traditional markets going through three consecutive years of bear market for the first time since 1994. Structured Hedge Funds are thus becoming increasingly in demand as investors are looking for new alternatives to their portfolios to mitigate falling returns from the equity markets.
The Man Investment Products workshop will trace back the development of the Hedge Funds industry globally and in the Middle East region, and will highlight future market trends and challenges and clarify the effects of diversification on one's portfolio. It will also illustrate the range of hedge funds products and styles in detail, as well as highlight the safety checks that investors need to put in place and the selection process of the most appropriate product and reliable partner. A case study will also be presented on a particular hedge funds product, explaining its development, components and benefits.
The workshop is followed on the 4th of February by a two-day conference for seasoned investors, which is also sponsored by Man Investment Products. It features top international and regional speakers from the world of hedge funds, including Felix Zulauf, Partner at Zulauf Asset Management, Christoph Moeller, CEO of Man Investment Products, Roy Gardner, General Manager and Chief Financial Strategist at the Saudi American Bank, Ibrahim Ghargour, Head of the Treasury/Asset Management at Investcorp Bank and Mohammad Seif-Elnasr, Head of Capital Markets at Saudi Arabia's National Commercial Bank.
