Ten Sports acquires PCB rights through 2013

Taj Television Limited, owners of Ten Sports, the sub-continent's sports channel, has won the exclusive production and telecast rights for all international cricket tours of Pakistan.

An agreement to this effect was signed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Taj Television Limited on Sunday.

Under the new agreement, Taj Television's exclusive production, telecast and distribution rights for international tours include all Tests, One Day Internationals and Twenty20 matches.

The period of agreement starts from the current date and continues through the 2012-13 season. The rights include nearly 200 days of live cricket and cover all forms of electronic media.

Among the major tours which will take place during the period of agreement are: two visits by India, including the series in January-February 2009; three by Australia; and one each by England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and South Africa.

Chris McDonald, CEO, Taj Television Limited, said:
"We are very pleased that the PCB has extended our five year old broadcast relationship by another five year term. We've had an excellent partnership with the PCB and have always delivered the highest quality television productions as well as the widest possible distribution for international cricket tours of Pakistan."
