Advertising spend cools in UAE
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, November 26 - 2008 at 09:11
Media companies in the UAE are reporting up to a 35% drop in advertising in recent weeks, reported The National. Print and outdoor advertising have been among the hardest hit as the two sectors depend most heavily on revenue from the property market. More than half of the top 10 newspaper advertisers so far this year have been property companies, according to the Pan Arab Research Center. Mohie Patel, vice president of advertising at Khaleej Times, said the paper has seen a 35% drop in advertising, with the hardest hit segments being property, banking, and luxury goods.
