ExxonMobil continues support for Kuwait Debate Championship

ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Kuwait Limited announced its continued support for the Kuwait Schools Debate Championship (KSDC) by sponsoring the finals between Fahaheel Al Watanieh Indian Private School (FAIPS) and British School of Kuwait (BSK), with BSK taking away the trophy.

President of ExxonMobil Exploration & Production Kuwait, John Hoholick, said:
"The talent we saw today was impressive. This is the second time we sponsor KSDC and we look forward to supporting the competition in the future."


"In the Middle East and in the Gulf region in particular, we have concentrated on actively contributing to education, health and community programs. Our support of KSDC activities is an extension of our commitment to be part of the communities we operate in," said Hoholick.

Emma Bowie, KSDC Director, said: "All those involved in KSDC 2008 are grateful for the kind support and generous sponsorship received from both ExxonMobil and the Sheraton hotel. Such support is vitally important to the future of KSDC."

The event was judged by John Hoholick, President of ExxonMobil Kuwait, Ms. Susan Day, and Ms. Sue Reed.

The FAIPS team comprised:

- Annapoorna Dasgupta
- Kriti Tripathi
- Angela Maria Pallickal

The BSK team comprised:

- Nour Jaber
- Kasifa Khalid
- Rohan Varghese
- Fatima Yeganeh

ExxonMobil has a long history of supporting and improving educational programs. In all countries, basic education is necessary to spur development and economic growth. In 2007, ExxonMobil directed more than $70m to education worldwide.
