Dubai hotels to cut CO2 by 20%

Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has conducted a workshop in line with its sustainability projects in the emirate, accroding to a press statement. DTCM is targeting that hotels in the emirate reduce their carbon emissions by 20% by 2011. According to a senior manager at Avireal Middle East, the size of the carbon footprint produced by all 300 hotels in Dubai is equivalent to 60,000 round-trip flights between Dubai and London.
