It is worth mentioning that Saraya Aqaba has been supporting Abdullah Bin Qais Al-Harithi School for the past two consecutive years by investing in elevating and modernizing the educational system, which comes as a manifestation of the public-private partnership in the Education Sector. It is also part of the 'Schools Adoption Program' that was initiated by the Local Community Directorate in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA).
This agreement builds on the successes of the previous agreement within the program 'For a Better School' that took place among the different parties involved last year. The previous agreement had resulted in tremendous successes and has been a unique experience in Jordan and the Arab World by applying the program for professional development. The program was designed and executed by CADER in order to cover the school's needs besides the teachers, students, parents, and the overall educational and social environment of the local community.
'Supporting the educational system is considered a major investment for the future of Jordan, as it has a positive impact on the society. We at Saraya Aqaba believe that supporting education is a national duty that should be a priority on our agendas. Saraya Aqaba's corporate social responsibility focuses on developing and supporting education in the city of Aqaba as it empowers the local community in various ways and platforms.'
said Mr. 'Shadi Ramzi' Al-Majali, General Manager of Saraya Aqaba.
The achievements of Abdullah Bin Qais Al-Harithi School throughout the past two years proved to be a successful model, which we anticipate other schools in Aqaba and the kingdom would follow, added Al-Majali.
'Saraya Aqaba is keen on providing all forms of support for the school.' Said Eng. Ameen Ameen, who also emphasized on the fact that CADER is committed to offer the best programs and services by hiring the most qualified team of trainers capable of identifying the school needs.. He also stated that CADER intends to hold continuous evaluations to observe the school's performance in order to ensure best results.
It is worth mentioning that the new agreement also entails scholarships for seven new teachers who will be sponsored to study and obtain the 'Educational Diploma in Information Technology and Communication', and join their five colleagues who have obtained the degree last year. Furthermore, the agreement includes the execution for a number of training and educational programs, the most important of which is 'speakers program', where the school will host a number of leading figures in the Jordanian society. The aim of the program is the transition of personal and professional experiences from those prominent figures.
Building on His Majesty's, King Abdullah II, initiatives in developing political awareness among the youth, the agreement also entails the establishment of the students' parliament, which would undergo all stages of election. Saraya Aqaba will also provide the candidates with the needed materials for their elections' campaign, in addition to supplying the parliament with a budget to enable it to apply the different projects students would think of to benefit the school and the local community.
Saraya Aqaba believes that it is a crucial aspect to strengthen the parents and teachers relationship; therefore, establishing the Parents-Teachers board became an integral part of this agreement. The board will be provided with the financial support required to help the school move to the next level and achieve higher goals.
This board should also tighten the gap between the school and teachers while deepening its relationship with the local community through the implementation of various educational programs including: developing the school plan for teachers, establishing the school's website, building the school's theatre, preparing the school's play and performing it for other schools.
