UAE discusses bilateral relations with Ireland

H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, has met recently The Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland, Ms. Mary Coughlan, T.D. and (Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment) in his office in Dubai.

The economic ties and ways of increasing volume of trade exchange between the two countries were main topics of the meeting.

H.E. Al Mansouri praised the economic relations between the UAE and Ireland and pointed to the necessity of developing the economic ties and cooperation between them. He mentioned that the investment climate in the UAE is one of the healthiest climates in the world, due to the diversification policy of the UAE's economy that highly contributed to attract huge foreign investment projects from the world.

Al Mansouri has pointed that the Ministry of Economy will enhance cooperation with Irish economic institutions and to provide facilities for the Irish business men who are interested to invest in the UAE. He said that there will be also cooperation in the fields of technology and exchange of experiences in this aspect.

Speaking ahead of the mission the Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland has said:
"Ireland has enjoyed a strong business relationship with the UAE for several years and in the past ten, there has been significant upsurge in trade between Ireland and the Emirates so that it is now the fastest growing market for Irish companies in the Gulf Region. Irish exports to the UAE in 2007 were €290m and more than 35 Irish companies have operations in the UAE."


The volume of trade exchange between the UAE and Ireland has reached Dhs1bn in 2007 with an increase of 15%.
