Emirates NBD wins UAE bank of the year award 2008

Emirates NBD, one of the largest banking groups in the Middle East in terms of assets, has been named as the best bank in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by the renowned The Banker Magazine.

The award was received by Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Emirates NBD at a ceremony held recently in London.

The criteria for the assessment of the best bank award measures overall performance in the previous period, incorporating performance criteria, qualitative achievements and strategic initiatives.

Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, said:
"This award reflects Emirates NBD's vision of being the key player in the banking and finance industry in the country and the region. Being named as UAE Bank of the Year 2008 is yet another recognition for the exceptional performance, leadership and excellence that Emirates NBD has adopted in the local and regional banking industry."


The Banker award follows three awards received by Emirates NBD to date this year including: Best Foreign Exchange Bank in the UAE and Best Emerging Market Bank in the UAE and Best Bank in the UAE.

This year marks The Banker's 9th Annual awards and were once again hotly contested by the world's leading financial institutions.
