Sheikha Al Maskari, ADAC's Vice President of Corporate Affairs, said:
"All the necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a seamless flow of pilgrims at the airport,"

Terminal 1A has been dedicated for the exclusive service of pilgrims, and a full-fledged plan involving all agencies operating at the airport has been put to action to ensure a smooth flow of pilgrims to the holy shrines and back home again. A handful of flights will also operate from Terminal 1.

In a gesture reflecting traditional Arabian hospitality, pilgrims are invited to visit a tent situated at the terminal entrance where complimentary refreshments are served.

Whilst at the airport, Hajj pilgrims are also handed out leaflets and brochures, detailing the procedures for the annual pilgrimage and providing information on how their journey via Abu Dhabi International Airport can be made hassle free.

Religious advisors of the UAE Ministry of Islamic Affairs are also on hand round the clock to provide guidance to Hajj travellers before proceeding to the holy shrines.

When they return, pilgrims will be invited to a special tent installed in Terminal 1 where complimentary drinks will be served. A special point will also be allocated for pick up of their Zamzam water.

"A multi-functional team representing all agencies operating at the airport has carved out plans to ensure a smooth flow of pilgrims to the holy shrines," assured Al Maskari.

Around 15 flights are operating between Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia over the holy pilgrimage and it is expected that more than 4,000 pilgrims will pass through Abu Dhabi International Airport on their travels.
