  • PRESS RELEASE

The UAE logistics market is estimated to reach $40bn by 2010, according to recent studies, as a result of the country's dedicated efforts to enhance its current infrastructure and its sizeable investments into the development of many key areas.

With aims to leverage UAE's rapid transformation as a global logistic hub, Saudi based Almajdouie Group, the oldest and leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider in the Middle, has recently joined hands with UAE baed So Safe International and Chinese Jinghai Transport formed a joint venture under the name of Maxx Logistics and has opened a new Dhs50m plus multi-purpose logistics facility, in Dubai's Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZ), further consolidating the operation's Middle Eastern strategic footprint.

According to a new study in Transworld Intelligence's latest benchmark report, the Middle East is one of the regions that will continue to witness high growth in contract logistics despite worries that a worldwide economic slowdown would have a serious impact on volumes and revenues. With an anticipated growth of between 17 and 19%, the region's logistics business is expected to outgrow the entire industry, which is expected to grow at 9%.

The official ceremonial opening of Maxx Logistics was performed by Abdullah Almajdouie, President of Almajdouie Group and Chairman of Maxx Logistics. The other two joint venture partners, Mr. Sultan Mahmood (Chairman, So~Safe International, UAE) and Mr. Victor Chang (Managing Director, Jinghai Transport China) were also present along with Mr. S.I.
