As the Dubai government body charged with promoting exports from the Emirate, EDC also organised a business matchmaking forum which was attended by many leading local and international construction related companies at the Raffles Dubai Hotel, coinciding with the Big 5 event. During this meeting, Dubai exporters were given the opportunity to network with invited key buyer delegates from Saudi Arabia and India attending The Big 5 event.
The business matching event is designed to increase trade opportunities for Dubai and UAE exporters and included presentations by trade experts from EDC examining business opportunities in various markets worldwide. Key buyer delegates from Saudi Arabia and India were presented with different opportunities on the capabilities that are present within the Dubai building and construction sector.
"Our participation in the Big 5 Exhibition will enable us to continue to showcase 'Made in Dubai' as a mark of quality as well as to participate in activities matching Dubai businesses with opportunities for export,"said Engineer Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Export Development Corporation.
"There are significant opportunities in many external markets for Dubai and UAE-based businesses and with so many potential buyers visiting Dubai for the Big 5 exhibition we are looking forward to being able to assist these businesses to meet potential new international customers. We are looking forward to this exhibition to yield positive results from the business matching forums we are holding for the UAE's local businesses," Al Awadi added.
