Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has announced that its 10 service stations, which implemented self-service as a trial across Dubai and the Northern Emirates, will revert to full service starting December 1, 2008.

The self-service project was launched as a pilot on the 12th of August 2008 and Enoc has been evaluating customer feedback on the concept during the past three months.

Saeed Abdullah Khoory, Enoc Group Chief Executive said, "The pilot has accomplished its target of gauging customer response to self-service and helped the company to evaluate the social, technical and operational aspects of introducing this new concept."

"The pilot showed that acceptance of self-service varies according to specific customer categories. In general, the multinational and cosmopolitan UAE community understands self-service fuel retailing as it is common in many countries abroad. The lessons learned from the pilot will be highly beneficial should Enoc decide to implement self-service across its network in the future. Enoc will continue to look for ways to win wider acceptance for self-service retailing, and all customer feedback we have gathered in this project will be evaluated and considered in all our future activities," added Khoory.

The ten self-service stations are: Al Bada'a, opposite Jumeirah Jail; Al Manara on Jumeirah Beach Road; Al Hashimi, behind Sahara Centre; Al Falah, Emirates Road, Sharjah; Al Arouba, Ajman-Sharjah Road; Al Ittihad, Greenbelt Road in Sharjah; Al Rafia on the Dhaid-Sharjah Road; Al Gharafa on Ajman Main Street; Marine, Fujairah Marine Club and Thouban on Sharjah-Fujairah highway.
