"The UAE and India have a long history of trade, economic and cultural links which have flourished through the years. Even before Dubai became known to the rest of the world as the gateway to the Gulf and Central Asian countries, India in particular, a large number of Indian businesses had already established their presence in the UAE. India has now emerged as Dubai's largest export destination for UAE manufactured goods whilst our country is the second largest destination for India's exports,"said Engineer Saed Al Awadi, Chief Executive Officer, EDC.
"It is among our initiatives to strengthen the country, particularly Dubai's export industry, by supporting businesses operating in the UAE. Through IBPC Dubai, we are able to reach Indian companies firmly established in the Emirates and help them broaden their businesses not only in India but in other parts of the world," he added.
Indian businesses comprise a significant share of exporters from Dubai and both organisations will work together to support Indian exporters explore other markets. During the seminar, IBPC Dubai members were able to learn about EDC's export services and various opportunities outside the country.
"One of the missions of IBPC Dubai is to provide a link between the Indian business community and UAE organisations dedicated to the development of international trade and investments. The EDC seminar conducted is part of our support to Indian companies and professionals to help them establish and enhance their presence, not only in Dubai but in other emerging markets as well,"said Abbas Ali Mirza, President, IBPC Dubai.
