Donald Smith, a qualified and experienced engineering professional has been involved with the Kuwait energy industry since 2000, providing technical project management advisory and support services to state owned and private sector clients.
Mr Smith, explains
'The need for good technology based organisations for the Kuwait energy market is obvious, given Kuwait's intention of increasing oil output to 4 million barrels in the coming years. In addition, the production of significant quantities of corrosive and sour gas will require a different mindset and operating regime. We believe that linking technology organisations with appropriate JV partners is of fundamental importance to the country. We have identified that there are a significant number of companies in Europe that are looking to enter the Middle East market but require a 'helping hand' to get established. It's our job to provide that help.'
Kuwait Business Link (KBL) has been initiated to assist companies wishing to enter the Middle East market, initially Kuwait, by providing business infrastructure and resources including administrative, logistics, marketing, professional, technical and clerical support on a 'Business Time Share' basis. The service is targeting companies that are looking to enter the Middle East market for the first time or further develop their business in the region. Whilst the target market is initially Kuwait, the model may be applied to other GCC countries.
'We compliment the works done by UK public sector bodies such as UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Scottish Development International (SDI) and the Enterprise Networks however we take the market development service to the next stage with practical hands-on assistance in the day-to-day commercial activities of 'finding and winning' new business, whether through direct contact with potential clients or through establishing local working partnerships,' says Mr Smith.
Kuwait Business Link is planning on extending its range of services to include specific support services for it's Kuwait based clients including Relationship Management training, JV Network Coaching and senior management personal mentoring to further support the local Agents ability to manage the relationships with it's Principals.
'We will be looking to expand our network of supported organisations in 2009 and I am hopeful of assisting several other clients to achieve their business objectives next year.' he added
