    Part of Abu Dhabi Policy Agenda seminar.
The Abu Dhabi Policy Agenda focuses on building a safe community and an active and open economy, based on a set of key factors which were the foundation of the strategy plans developed by the Abu Dhabi government entities.

In a speech he delivered today at the opening of the symposium, which was held at Al Raha Beach Hotel, Abu Dhabi, Al Khaili added:

"Strategic planning is not a goal in itself, rather it is a tool to regulate government efforts led by H.H General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Chairman of the Executive Council, in developing the government of Abu Dhabi's institutional performance, and improving services and performance to international levels of efficiency, thus achieving sustainable development."

The seminar was delivered by Dr David Norton of the US Palladium Group. He discussed the numerous benefits of developing an economic vision centring on several objectives; the first - accelerating and promoting economic growth while ensuring economic sustainability in Abu Dhabi;

the second - broadening the enterprise base in the Emirate; and the third enhancing productivity through a whole-of-government agenda focusing on economic development, social and human resources, infrastructure and environment, in addition to the full range of government initiatives, including legislative reform, e-government initiative, government restructuring, and the participation of women in the social and economic life of Abu Dhabi.

The seminar was attended by H.E Dr Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Health Authority; H.E Staff Major General Obaid Al Hairi Salem Al Ketbi, Deputy Director General, Abu Dhabi Police; H.E Juma Al Junaibi, General Manager, Abu Dhabi Municipality; H.E Rashed Al Shariqi, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority; H.E Ahmad Al Sharif, Undersecretary, DMA; and a large number of Abu Dhabi government officials, in an effort to become better acquainted with the best practices and processes in strategy implementation.
