Masoud Amralla Al Ali, DIFF's Artistic Director, said:
"Screen on the Green has always been a popular programme at DIFF, and is a wonderful way to enjoy cinema—outdoors with friends. There is always a great atmosphere at the screenings, and we have established them as a DIFF tradition."

The first Screen on the Green film, Harara (Heat) will screen on December 16. A Dutch-Moroccan co-production, Harara is about two women planning to open a henna salon in Holland. They decide to travel to Morocco to source authentic supplies, leading them to an encounter with two apparently friendly men who will change their lives forever.

On Wednesday, December 17, the Screen on the Green feature will be Mamoru Oshii's The Sky Crawlers, which blends 2- and 3-D animation with a compelling futuristic love story that tells the story of a generation of 'kildren,' perpetual teenagers destined never to grow up. In charmingly anachronistic fighter planes, they play at impressive air battles, plotted on behalf of giant corporations in order to entertain citizens. The tale of a young fighter pilot deals with love, honour and identity.
