The entry was in competition against approximately 500 entries from all over the world, vying for their place in the PIXI Awards Contest that recognises excellence and innovation in digital printing applications.

Batelco Senior Product Marketing Manager Nasreen Alasoomi who collected the award on behalf of Batelco said that she was thrilled to be able to represent the Company on such a prestigious occasion and bring home a high calibre award.

Batelco Chief Executive Officer Peter Kaliaropoulos congratulated all the teams involved in the successful design, development and implementation of the new look bill at a gathering held at Batelco Hamala Headquarters. Batelco's senior management team and Xerox Bahrain attended the event along with representatives from the various sections involved in the project.

Xerox Corporation Regional Senior Manager Peter Bacon explained that all submissions were independently judged by a panel of international leaders from every major segment of the graphic arts industry and were weighted on the criteria of business effectiveness, use of digital technology, degree of innovation and overall aesthetics.

He added:
"Batelco is the first telecom company within this region to demonstrate how best technology could be utilized to incorporate promotional graphics, images in highlight colours along with transactional billing information to further enhance customer experience and response."

Mr. Kaliaropoulos said that Batelco had redesigned their telecom bill based on feedback received from customers and that the new format had generated much positive feedback and reduced the number of billing enquiries significantly.

"We extend our thanks to Xerox for their role in the production of our new look bill and for entering it into the competition leading to this great accolade," he added.
