These appointments further support RSA's ongoing regional growth strategy for 2008, and highlight RSA's commitment to developing its business in core areas, such as Marine insurance as well as service excellence through innovative IT solutions and propositions. The new appointments will strengthen an already impressive team of people currently helping to grow RSA's business in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Mark Cooper, CEO for KSA and Bahrain, commented on the new appointments:

'Bahrain and Saudi Arabia both represent significant growth areas for RSA in the Middle East. Strengthening our senior teams reinforces our commitment to driving performance and delivering outstanding business results, and the appointment of these talented and experienced professionals is part of our ongoing plans to develop our business even further in the region.'

Karin joins RSA from Multimodal Marine Broking Services, where she managed a portfolio of strategic business accounts. She has worked in the insurance industry for 24 years, with 19 of those years spent in marine insurance.

Alexander previously held the position of Regional Manager at Kiln in Cape Town, South Africa. He has held several positions at a number of high profile organisations, including Allianz Insurance.

Kevin joins RSA from Kuwait Qatar Insurance Company KSCC, Kuwait, where he most recently held the role as Senior Manager for Underwriting. He brings more than 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, both in the region and internationally.

Ramachandran joined RSA ten years ago where he held the position of IT Architecture and Information Security Manager, reporting directly to the regional CIO based in Dubai. He recently relocated to RSA Bahrain as Chief Information Officer for KSA and Bahrain. Ramachandran has 13 years of experience working in the IT industry.

Following the re-branding strategy launched in April and the continued growth in 2008, RSA has shown commitment to building a strong regional team for its emerging markets in Asia and the Middle East, and thus strengthening its position as the preferred insurer among both individual and commercial customers. RSA Middle East recently announced its first half results for 2008, reporting profitable growth of 45% compared to last year.
