Colleges of Technology celebrates in the Western Region the 37th National Day

With the participation of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, the Higher Colleges of Technology celebrates in the Western Region the 37th National Day

As part of the implementation of the strategic plan for Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, and in continuation with state educational institutions in universities, colleges and schools, the Department of Intangible Heritage of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage organizes on Monday the first of December 2008 a cultural event that includes many diverse heritage activities, with the participation of: the poet Majid Bin Sultan Al Khatiri, the poet Rashid bin Salem bin Fteema Al Mansouri, a heritage exhibition of works on a range of products and crafts that reflect the heritage inherent to the people of the Western Region and its history and ancient civilization.

Also included is a live display of traditional products and crafts of local and popular character, which woman in the region excelled in the manufacturing, so that college students become aware of the crafts of their parents and grandparents.

For people with special needs there will be care centre for contributions of traditional henna inscription, and preparing traditional dishes.

There will also be special presentations on hunting and the hunting trips by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - may God have mercy on him - as well as the efforts made by the Department of Intangible Heritage in the registration of Falconry as world heritage at the UNESCO.

There will be displays of camels, popular games and dancing involving college teachers and students.
