"Qatar Driving Learning Institute is a leader in its field of providing professional driving services, and we are very proud to be the safety expert of choice for installing our sophisticated driving, monitoring and safety equipment in their brand new facilities."
said Mr. Rami Al-Batrawi, General Manager of IGTC-Chubb Fire Qatar.
The new Qatar Driving Learning Institute, formerly the Qatar Modern Driving School, that is schedule to open soon is spread over 36,000 sqm in the Al Muraikh region and will be a self-contained city for driving instruction with its own roads, bridges, roundabouts and working traffic signals.
Students will be able to learn how to drive in a controlled and monitored environment, free from the dangers of open roads and traffic networks.
"On a project of this scale, it was important for the institute to have an integrated security and learning solution which would help not only to monitor the student's courses, progress and mistakes but also to ensure that in case of emergency or fire, they would have the best protection systems possible," asserts Mr. Batrawi.
IGTC-Chubb Fire has provided the institute with advanced car simulators from German driving simulation experts Foerst.
The machines allow users to experience highly realistic driving scenarios in basic, intermediate or advanced levels so as to experience a variety of driving conditions without putting themselves in any danger or slowing traffic on live road networks.
The simulators also allow drivers to encounter emergency situations, drive in various weather conditions and watch instant replays to learn from their mistakes.
Those Foerst simulators which comply with international standards were installed by German experts and specialists who trained the supervisors on how to use these simulators.
The driving institute also boasts a comprehensive and integrated CCTV camera network from IGTC-Chubb that allows driving experts and instructors to watch their students drive around the institute and assess their ability to drive in everyday conditions.
"With a central monitoring system with 14 cameras, instructors can gain an all-round perspective of how their students are progressing by watching them park, seeing what speeds they achieve or how their students approach traffic signals and roundabouts. All in all it leads to a safe and educational experience that ensures new drivers are properly trained by the time they go out on to live roads."
explains Mr. Batrawi.
Another state-of-the-art system provided by IGTC-Chubb is a wireless fire detection system.
This protection tool is highly sensitive to fires in their early stages and works in conjunction with a public address system from EGI Spain, installed around the institute and in lecture rooms that alerts students and faculty of fires or dangerous situations.
The Public Address also facilitates live communication between driver and instructor in the course of driving exercises and helps students avoid mistakes.
In a bid to make the entire facility time and cost efficient, the safety leader has also enabled a Queuing Management System (QMS) that will ensure orderly turn taking at simulators or for road exercises.
"Where possible, we have tried to implement a synergistic infrastructure so that safety and education go hand in hand at the institute," said Mr Batrawi.
"So far we have been successful in doing just that, and we are very excited about the future prospects of this modern school."
IGTC-Chubb's participation in outfitting one of Qatar's most modern and advanced driving schools follows its recent announcement of opening a specialised department dedicated to security services and solution
