OPEC to cut output, says Qatari minister

  • Middle East: Wednesday, December 03 - 2008 at 13:13

OPEC will cut oil output at its next meeting on Dec. 17 in Algeria, Qatar's oil minister told Reuters on Wednesday. Abdullah al-Attiyah did not specify how much the cut would be, but he reiterated that a price of under $70 a barrel was threatening to derail projects to boost oil and gas capacity. 'My concern is that the oil price will go lower,' he said. 'And many projects will be delayed.'
