Emirates began its commitment to Australian golf at the event last year, and is again the Official Airline of the tournament that starts on 4th December at the Hyatt Regency Coolum.

This year's line up includes 11 players within the Top 100 of the Official World Golf rankings including Australian's Geoff Ogilvy, Adam Scott, Stuart Appleby, Robert Allenby, Peter Lonard, Richard Green, Rod Pampling, Mathew Goggin, John Senden and internationals Tim Clark and Paul Goydos.

Mike Simon, Emirates' Divisional Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, said:
"We are proud to be the Official Airline of the PGA Championships for a second consecutive year and continue our commitment to Australian sport. The tournament allows us to support the sporting interests of our passengers as well as highlight our ongoing investment into Queensland and the rest of Australia."

Max Garske, Chief Executive Officer of the PGA of Australia, said:
"To have the continued support of a major international airline as prestigious as Emirates, highlights the standing of the event not just in Australia, but globally, and we are delighted that the partnership between Emirates and the PGA will continue after a successful first year in 2007."

In addition to the Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship, Emirates currently sponsors a further 11 international golf tournaments spanning several continents with associated events including the Dubai Desert Classic, the Dubai Ladies Masters, the BMW International Open, and the Malaysian and Hong Kong Opens.

Spectators at the tournament from 4th to 7th December, will also have several chances to win flights with Emirates. A game of skill to identify all the destinations Emirates will be flying the A380 to in early 2009 could lead one lucky spectator to win 200,000 Skywards miles, while Emirates cabin crew will be out on course spotting golfing fans for a chance to win a business class trip to Dubai from Brisbane and a stay at the Emirates Hotels & Resort's city-based hotel, The Harbour Hotel & Residence.

Emirates will also help raise funds for the Sunshine Coast Community Hospice project, an organisation that will offer palliative care for individuals, both adults and children, and their loved ones as they learn to live with a life threatening illness. The money will be raised during the Pro-Am with amateur competitors encouraged by Emirates Cabin Crew on the par three sixth hole to make a charitable donation. In return, the player who achieves 'nearest the pin' will win two return economy tickets with Emirates from Brisbane to Auckland.
