NAS signs strategic ground handling agreement with Royal Jordanian

The region's fastest growing ground handling company National Aviation Services (NAS) today announced the signing of an agreement with Royal Jordanian Airlines for the provision of ground handling and support services at the Kuwait International Airport at an official ribbon-cutting ceremony held at the Kuwait International Airport.

The ceremony which was followed by an official ribbon cutting at the check-in counters at the Kuwait Airport, took place with senior management of NAS, Royal Jordanian and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) present.

Though Royal Jordanian has been operating to Kuwait for a number of years now, this agreement marks the transfer of ground handling service providers and further solidifies the reputation of NAS as a world class service provider. Through this agreement, NAS will provide Royal Jordanian with airline ground handling services like ground/ramp support, passenger services and cargo management.

Passengers traveling on Royal Jordanian will have the option of daily flights from Kuwait to Amman, Jordan and through this will be able to connect to around 56 destinations worldwide. They will also be able to take advantage of other value added services provided by NAS like the Meet & Assist, the Pearl Lounge for First & Business Class Passengers and the soon to be launched exclusive Derwaza mini airport terminal.

Naji Al-Ajmi, President & Chief Executive Officer of NAS Global, said, "NAS stands out in terms of punctuality and quality of service."

Like its ground handling partner in Kuwait, Royal Jordanian has won a number of industry related awards from world renowned and recognized associations like Merit Award for the Airline Turnaround of the Year 2006 held by the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), the Phoenix award given by Air Transport World magazine, "Airline of the Year 2007" award by the Air Finance Journal and the Airline Strategy Award in the technology category and will be looking forward to upgrading the services it offers to its passengers traveling to and from Kuwait.

Royal Jordanian President & CEO Samer Majali commented that Royal Jordanian is glad to partner with the National Aviation Services, being a renowned ground handling company in Kuwait and worldwide.

He also said that the agreement with NAS comes in line with RJ's overall modernization processes it has been executing in the last few years. It thus signed this agreement with NAS as it is keen on upgrading its ground as well as air services.
