USAID reveals results of Consumer Behavior survey

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Jordan Economic Development Program (Sabeq) in cooperation with the Southern Chambers of Commerce in Karak, Mazar, Maan and Tafileh, revealed the results of the Consumer Behavior Survey during an event targeting the southern community in Jordan.
The survey aimed to identify the factors that affect the change in consumers' behavior in order to promote and encourage trade and investment opportunities in the southern region. Through this survey, USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (Sabeq) identified the required actions to be taken by the vendors to update their businesses in a way that meets the consumers' needs and expectations. The action plan developed through this assignment will strengthen the capacity of the chambers and increase their credibility among members.
As a result of this survey, a reader friendly brochure was produced and disseminated to the Chambers of Industries in the South for further dissemination on vendors. The brochure shed light on "consumers' behavior" and other methods to increase investors' revenues, such as display of products, variety of goods, and after sales service, etc.
During the event, an interactive play was performed to highlight various problems encountered by consumers in the governorates. It also offered the audience advice on the investment opportunities that are not seized.
The USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (Sabeq) is a five year broad economic development initiative implemented by BearingPoint, Inc. and a sizeable team of international and Jordanian partner firms. By both supporting improvements in the business environment and providing assistance to expand innovation and productivity in Jordanian businesses, to support the main objective of building up the private sector as a powerful engine of economic growth.
