Oman's Majan Telecommunications has become the Middle East's first virtual network operator, MEED has reported. The company launched mobile services under its Renna brand on 3 December. Renna, which means ring tone in Arabic, has signed a deal with Oman Mobile, the mobile division of Omantel, to provide the infrastructure needed to offer mobile phone services.
