Oman Air had suspended its flights on November 26 owing to the disorder that led to the closure of the two airports in the city. The Airline operated over 3 relief flights from U-Taboa Airport, and one from Suvarnabhumi International Airport. Over 1100 Oman Air passengers have been evacuated.

Corporate Communications and Media (CC & M) Department of Oman Air said that after conducting a comprehensive security and infrastructure review of Suvarnabhumi Airport, the company was now in full gear to operate its normal schedules. Oman Air has concluded that it is the right time to resume full Bangkok operations and announces resumption of full operations to Bangkok as per security clearances by Bangkok's airport authorities. Oman Air had brought stranded Omani passengers from Thailand on November 29 and 30, also 1 December.

CC & M said:
"As instructed by the Government, Oman Air sent a special flight on December 4 to Bangkok to bring back the Omani passengers stranded there. The Government wanted to make sure that all Omani citizens return home before Eid holidays. The special flight from Bangkok was operated in coordination with the Sultanate's embassy in Thailand."

On their return, the citizens and their families extended their deepest gratitude to HM The Sultan for the attention and concern provided to overcome all obstacles to ensure their safe return. They said that this magnanimous gesture was very much characteristic of His Majesty and furthermore commended the efforts made by the State to facilitate the return of its nationals to their home safely.
