NBD-Dnata credit card receives international award

Emirates NBD, one of the largest banking groups in the Middle East in terms of assets, announced that its innovative co-branded credit card, NBD-Dnata, has received the Best Marketing Campaign Award given as part of the MasterCard Asia/Pacific Middle East and Africa Product Awards 2008.

The award was presented in recognition of the strong product development efforts and overall marketing campaign which led to excellent business results in the marketplace. These include a very innovative Rewards programme giving Emirates NBD customers' access to redeem their points for travel with over 130 airlines and travel related services. Also the structure of the Rewards programme allows the customer to redeem rewards at their convenience and not to wait to reach a pre-set loyalty point amounts like other programmes in the market.

Emirates NBD received the award at a ceremony held in Singapore as part of the MasterCard Worldwide APMEA (Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa) Product Forum 2008.

Commenting on the award, Suvo Sarkar, Executive VP and General Manager, Retail Banking at Emirates NBD, said:

The NBD-Dnata Credit Card is the first co-branded card in the region between a bank and a travel group, which offers a variety of travel-related services. Apart from a range of competitive credit card benefits that include high credit limits, acceptance at millions of outlets worldwide and 24-hour customer assistance, NBD-Dnata Credit Cardholders earn reward points worth 1.5% of the purchase amount every time they use their card anywhere in the world. These accumulated points can then be redeemed at designated Dnata outlets for any of their products or services, including tickets with more than 130 airlines and other travel-related services. The card adopts an innovative loyalty programme, which provides cardholders a simplified plan to redeem their points directly from any Dnata outlet at time of purchase.

At the recently held MasterCard Worldwide APMEA Product Forum MasterCard honoured its customer financial institutions from around the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa region for their excellence in promoting growth, technology and innovation in the payments industry.
