CNBC Arabiya showcases GCC's most successful women

Business women and entrepreneurs from the GCC and Arab world will be celebrated in a new program from CNBC Arabiya, the first of its kind for the region.

Recently documented in the program was Huda Janahi from Bahrain, owner and Managing Director of Global Cargo Services, recently named as one of the 50 most powerful businesswomen in the Arab world. Also featured was Katia Tayar, President and CEO of Arabcom Group.

Steven F. Hall, CEO, CNBC Arabiya, says:
"The GCC is home to an increasing number of successful female entrepreneurs. We want to showcase the achievements of these amazing women and provide inspiration for others in the region."


The weekly show, Ma'ahonna, "women in business" in English, includes interviews, profiles, insight and focuses on the guest's career and highlights the points of success and uniqueness.

Also discussed are the challenges faced by Gulf women in the field of business and the different ways these women overcame these problems. The program will also present moments from the interviewee's daily life and work.

Future guests include celebrated UAE artist Azza Al Qubaisi, and Egyptian Lula Zaklama, President of the International Public Relations Authority (IPRA).

The region's first and premier 24-hour live-broadcast, Arabic Business TV channel, CNBC Arabiya, recently re-launched to include 12 brand new programs. Ma'ahonna airs on Saturdays at 8pm (KSA time).

Along with a new programming schedule, the CNBC Arabiya re-launch reveals a brand new studio layout with more capacity for live links. The re-designed CNBC Arabiya website will act as a genuine financial portal to cover stock markets, news alerts and breaking business news.

It also will let viewers download features and comment on the latest stories and issues affecting them.
