The award recognizes Mashreq for its eCommerce achievements and reinforces its' position as the UAE's most convenient bank.

The prestigious award is based on a set of criteria that evaluates various financial institutions' ability to raise the bar in product innovation, creativity and support of card programs over the past 12 months.

Douglas Beckett, Head of Retail Banking Group, commented:
"eCommerce has changed the face of banking in the UAE. We have ensured that we remain ahead of the competition in terms of the services we are able to offer by providing secure, advanced payment options for our merchants. This includes IVR based payments and payments through kiosks integrated in Mashreq's eCommerce category. The award and recognition from Mastercard is a testament to our ongoing dedication as a leading service provider in convenient banking solutions."

The MasterCard Product Awards, which cover the APMEA region and focus on customer financial institutions, is a widely recognized annual event among the payments industry for its acknowledgement in retail banking best practices. The panel of award judges is comprised of senior executives from MasterCard Worldwide.

The award reinforces the commitment with which Mashreq is developing accessible banking options across the UAE. In addition to its first co-branded loyalty card with Etisalat, Mashreq has recently been among the first to launch Mobile Banking in the country, providing cutting edge technology to connect 6 million mobile users across the UAE and allowing them full and transactional access to their bank accounts through their mobile phones. This unique offering is a free and easy use option for safe and convenient banking.
