The value of the project was approximately Dhs22m, making it the largest project of its type across the EMEA region.
Speaking of this achievement, Mr. Haytham Kamel, Emirates Computers' Vice President and General Manager - Dubai & Northern Emirates, says,
"It is with great pride and honor that we accept this award from EMC. We are confident that the successful implementation of a project of this magnitude and scale will open doors to many more business opportunities for Emirates Computers and EMC in the region."
The objective of the CCTV storage project for Dubai Airports Company (DAC) was to deliver continuous actionable intelligence to the company's staff to address any security issue by assisting in facility security, operational support, monitoring sensitive areas and retrieving potentially critical footage.
Emirates Computers implemented EMC's CLARiiON networked storage systems configured with 3PB (Petabytes) or 3,000,000GB (Gigabytes) for DAC, which would provide the necessary reliability and scalability to store massive amounts of image and video data, which is continuously supplied by the 1800 CCTV cameras in and around the concourse, terminal and other high priority areas.
"We are pleased to recognize Emirates Computers for the Best Security Project Award in EMEA and are happy to see the company strive to deliver increased value to UAE customers with their expertise and using EMC technologies." concludes Mr. Mohammed Amin, Regional Manager, EMC Middle East & North West Africa.
