Sheik Abdullah bin Fahid Al Shakrah, Al Hanoo Holding and Emirates Industrial Cities Chairman, said of the progress made on the project:
"Al Hanoo Holding will continue to development the project because, first and foremost, the company is keen on delivering the project on scheduled time, and secondly, to ensure all modern international and industrial standards are applied throughout the various facilities of the project. Last but not least, we aim to establish a stable for specialized cities, especially industrial ones, which are unique across the country and the region."
The investment size at the Warehouses City exceeds Dhs2bn. The Emirates Industrial City garnered a lot of attention at Cityscape Dubai 2008. The warehouses City will stretches over an area of 20 million square feet of Emirates Industrial City project land, which in turn covers an area of 83 million square feet.
This is divided into eight districts, two of which have been specified for warehouses and logistic support, and which includes 4,000 warehouses. These warehouses are to be developed in two stages, where the first stage, scheduled for completion within 15 months, has 2,000 warehouses ranging between 2,500 and 4,000 square feet. The remaining six districts include various activities such as industrial investment, commercial activities, permanent sales exhibition spaces for factories and multi-purpose business centers with the flexibility to host other support services and activities.
