Ubifrance will accompany 7 French businesses to the Seatrade Middle East Maritime trade show

The France pavilion will extend over some fifty sq. m. in Hall 7, from booths 711 to 713.

French shipbuilding represents a workforce of 39,000 people including builders, repairers and equipment manufacturers. It is among the leaders in shipbuilding worldwide thanks to its recognised ranges and expertise. French shipyards have specialised in building complex ships with high added value, such as high-speed ferries, cruise ships, LPG tankers, aircraft carriers, submarines, and more.

Active on the export market, the French shipping industry is completely integrated with the world economy, with a 60% share of exports in spite of strong competition from Asian shipyards (Korea, Japan, China...). The civilian shipbuilding and ship repair industry is very strongly established in the West of France. The Pays de la Loire region employs 60% of the workforce, followed by Brittany (18%).

In addition to attending the trade show, the French businesses will meet with regional decision-makers (Drydocs and DP World) and visit such sites as the Dubai shipyard, the port area of Djebel Ali, and Dubai Maritime City.
