540 litres of Dulux Vinyl Matt paint were used by a team of trained decorators, and chosen because of its washable, safe and non-toxic qualities.
The school was in urgent need of a coat of paint and was falling short of a conducive environment, vital for teaching to become effective.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Prime Minister and Vice-President and Ruler of Dubai launched the Dubai Cares initiative in September 2007. Inspired by His Highness' belief that education is the most effective tool to break the cycle of poverty, Dubai Cares aims to improve children's access to primary education.
Sunil Gudur, Chief Manager, Al Gurg Leigh's Paints, said:
"It was a real pleasure to be able to offer our assistance to the staff and pupils of Manar Al Iman School. We were given a warm welcome and everyone from Al Gurg Leigh's Paints benefitted from being able to make a substantial difference in the community."
Officials from the Ministry of Health and Education who visited the school to witness the activity and appreciated AGLP's effort and complimented AGLP management on their commitment to Dubai Cares.
