Banker Magazine selects Arab Bank as Best Bank in Jordan for 2008

The bank received the award during a special ceremony held recently in London to honor the world's best-performing banks.

The Banker Award winning reflects the positive indicators of Arab Bank around the year and the special status the bank enjoys among other banking institutions, which it has earned as a result of quality performance.

The award acquires special importance as it comes amid the global financial crisis and its repercussions on the banking industry worldwide, indicating the financial solidity of the bank and the soundness of its banking policies, in addition to the confidence it has earned among rating agencies and organizations in the financial world.

Arab Bank offers diversified and integrated banking services through programs that meet the needs of its customers. The bank also diversifies its strategic approaches, expanding within this context, a network of corporate and retail banking services and investment funds.

Arab Bank Group posted record results in the first nine months of 2008, with profits amounting to $841.5m and total assets to $46.3bn, while the bank has expanded its branch network during the year.

The Banker Awards are given on the basis of an evaluation of the results of banks carried out by an international jury, applying highly flexible and comprehensive criteria.

The award is added to a series of other recognitions Arab Bank has realized this year; including its selection by Global Finance magazine as best bank in Jordan and Yemen and the best commercial financing bank in Jordan and the Middle East. It has also won Euromoney's Best Bank in Jordan award.
