Italian regional chamber of commerce invites UAE firms to Pesaro
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, December 03 - 2008 at 15:07
- PRESS RELEASE
Over 200 leading firms from Italy will be participating in this year's furniture and interiors show from December 3-7 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre as companies in the two countries seek to increase tie-ups with each other.
Domo 360, the furniture, interiors and living expo will be held at the modern Salone del Mobile in Pesaro's historic district from September 24-27, 2009. The show is expected to be different from the exhibitions seen so far. "It will mix aspects of design and visions of the total living," says Drudi.
DOMO 360 has undergone total change in its approach - with a new name, different date and renewed mission. "We had to propose a total change of gear to break decisively from the old formula, keeping in view the real need of manufacturers and users," says Drudi. The timing is linked to the Chamber's thinking that the current financial crisis in Europe would have ended by then. Apart from the exhibition, DOMO 360 will have conferences, meetings and interactive sessions.
To substantially enhance the relationship between companies in the two countries, the Pesaro Chamber is offering to host UAE firms which would like to participate in DOMO 360 or attend it as buyers. During his stay in Dubai, Drudi is extending this invitation to all the leading manufacturers and providers in this country.
DOMO 360 will be situated in the heart of the world's furniture capital. Over 3,700 such firms are located in the region employing more than 37,000 employees, comprising around 10 per cent of active companies in Italy. Pesaro is the main gateway for Italian furniture and allied products to the world. Moreover, Italian furniture products have become synonyms with quality, class and taste the world over.
Despite the then impending global economic slowdown, furniture exports from Italy grew by 14 per cent in the first half of 2008. "We are looking to expand our markets in the Middle East, the emerging countries of Asia, Russia and the Balkans," Drudi said. In this drive, countries in the UAE and the region can be effective partners.
