The course, which was attended by 25 government officials from various Ministries and Government authorities, was conducted by Steve Power from LTI, United Kingdom. The course is one of the requirements for obtaining international certification in project management.
The course focused on ways to approach challenges presented by projects and was designed to enhance the skills of managers from the various Government ministries and authorities involved in the e-Government project and enable them to address these challenges and solve problems quickly and competently.
Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, eGA Chief Executive Officer, said:
"This training course is an important part of the effort to assure the success of the e-Government project - a project that provides Government services quickly and simply in line with the Bahrain Government's Vision 2030 initiatives."
Mr. Al Qaed said that the eGA is keen to train Government employees through internationally recognized training programs so that participants can be certified as having acquired the necessary skills to manage e-Government projects.
"We signed a contract with one of the world's most prominent training providers for this course, and ensured that maximum number of Government employees benefitted from the best course materials and expertise of the instructor," he said.
He stressed the need for such training courses in the Kingdom, as they facilitate the learning of new skills and help trainees learn the best and most advanced methods to facilitate the use of government services. He said the course was part of the eGA's strategy of training Government employees, and that other courses will be delivered in the future by other outstanding international trainers.
The eGA launched its new portal address, www.bahrain.bh, in October this year. The portal facilitates the provision of services offered to citizens, residents, businesses and visitors by the various ministries and Government authorities. In cooperation with the eGA, every Government ministry and authority has designated a special team to operate and launch its electronic services through the e-Government portal.
