This is the second time that the UAE operator has won this accolade from Arabian Business, and the fifth time that Etisalat has been named best in the Middle East in the last three years.
Etisalat's international expansion is gaining the respect of the global telcommunications community and is bringing it closer to achieving its aim to be one of the top 10 telcom operators in the world in 2010. Awards help to recognize the efforts of all Etisalat's employees across Asia, Africa and the Middle East who worked hard to make this a reality .
Etisalat today operates across 17 markets, servicing a customer base of 74mn out of a total population of nearly 2bn. It was named Best Operator at the Comms MEA Awards in 2006, at the Telecom World Awards in 2007 and 2008 and the Arabian Business Achievement Awards in 2007 and 2008.
Etisalat was also named the world's Best International Carrier, by a panel of international judges at the World Communications Awards in 2008.
