Buamim represented Dubai's business community at the invitation of the China Chamber of Commerce and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCOIC/CCPIT) marking the 10th anniversary of the implementation of ATA System in China.

Delegates from 28 countries, especially Asia Pacific region, were present at the meeting that discussed the progress of International Certificates of Origin (CO) guidelines and its translations in various global languages and discussion on electronic CO trends.

On its part, Dubai Chamber got the approval to publish International Certificates of Origin guidelines translated in Arabic. The WCF Chairman, HE Yona Yircali, also approved the Chinese and Russian versions of the guidelines of COs which will also be translated into French and Spanish languages later. The meeting agreed on holding a training programme on International CO in Dubai where all the concerned parties from Banking, Customs and Chambers will participate in the coming year.

According to Buamim, Dubai Chamber issued more than 600,000 COs which makes it one of the biggest issuer of international certificates of origin in the world as Dubai is a major trading hub internationally. He said because of this high volume of transactions, Dubai Chamber is aiming to provide the best possible services to its business community with speed and efficiency.

Buamim also confirmed that the WCF Chairman has accepted his invitation to be part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award 2008 and has confirmed Dubai Chamber's participation as major sponsor of the World Chamber Congress 2009 being held in Kuala Lumpur next year while Mexico City won the rights for hosting WCC 2011 meeting against the bid with Los Angeles.

This international gathering of top global business leaders provided an excellent platform for the Dubai Chamber Director General to showcase Dubai and its strategic East meets West location and to draw their attention to what Dubai has to offer them as a regional trading hub. He felt that by sponsoring various global business events Dubai will be able to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to the emirate and show how the country is a financially sound destination for the global business community.
