Bahrain Cultural Family & Food Fair 2003

The Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BCEB) has taken the initiative to organize this year the first Bahrain Cultural Family & Food Fair from 21st June to 4th July 2003 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

The idea emerged when market research and public inquiries indicated that there is a definitive need for a fair that reflects the cultural aspects of the society in the Kingdom of Bahrain in a joyful and entertaining manner, in which a blend of cultural shopping and family fun and food represent the core theme of the whole event. Therefore, and in accordance with the Bahrain Convention and Exhibition Bureau's policy to support such events and to make culture and new products available to all citizens and visitors, the bureau has adopted the idea and preparations have started for the first event.

The exhibition will be structured into 5 distinct sections with local, regional and international exhibitors:

o Body Shop &Health Care (including Beauty Products, Hair Care and Medical)
o Family & Home Services Centre (Real Estate, Banking, Insurance, Clubs, Time Share)
o Fun Fair (Handicrafts, Sports Goods, Leisure, Recreation, Holidays)
o Nature's Paradise (Gardening Mini Zoo Aquarium)
o Planet Food (Food Ingredients, Ready Food, Cooking Demonstrations)

In addition there will be daily highlights such as
o Children's Contests
o Show Cooking, Cooking Classes and Competitions
o Handicraft Demonstrations
o Music and Stars
o Theme Nights (cooperation with hotels)

The show concept does not allow discount selling but is a kaleidoscope of new and traditional products all under one roof with direct distribution of samples and ordering of goods with later direct delivery ex-warehouse. The daily opening hours are

Saturday 21st to Monday 23rd June 2003
10:00 am to 8:00 pm - Strictly Trade Only
Tuesday 24th June to Friday 4th July 2003
4:00 pm to 11:00 pm - Public and Trade

This event will be a unique opportunity for Bahraini's, tourists and visitors from Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries to source for handicraft, goods and services that are not easily available at the local shops in the neighborhood. Bahraini retailers and whole seller should make good use of this event the source for new ideas, goods and products that can be sold and re-exported throughout the year to various markets in the region.

The Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau (BCEB) is a newly established semi-government agency under the umbrella of the Ministry of Commerce. BCEB is responsible for the promotion of Bahrain as a world-class Convention, Exhibition and Meeting Destination and is also operating the largest convention and exhibition venue in Bahrain, the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre. BCEB also organizes overseas trade show participations and trade missions for Bahraini companies and exporters in order to promote exports and trade using Bahrain as a regional hub and services center. This year's program of overseas trade promotions includes Japan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Thailand and Turkey.
