In addition to accessing data on Etihad, Amadeus Gulf will offer travel agencies a wealth of information on more than 740 other airlines, nearly 80,000 hotels, 17 cruise lines, 22 car rental companies, 190 tour operators and 87 travel insurance companies across the world.
Amadeus will also give Etihad greater access to business and leisure travellers across the world and support the airline's growth strategy
James Hogan, Etihad Airways' chief executive, said:
"The launch of Amadeus Gulf signals Etihad's growing ambitions in the travel industry and ability to implement technology that will dramatically simplify the day-to-day business of travel companies and agents, and give a much wider choice of travel options for our customers."
Etihad has the majority 51% shareholding in Amadeus Gulf, with three members on the board, including the chairman, Wayne Pearce, the airline's executive vice president strategy and planning.
