Starbucks 'Holiday Joy' Toys Drive' is a regional toys drive campaign that aims at giving back to those who are less fortunate and is part of the company's ethos of connecting with the local community.

Starbucks customers and partners (employees) are invited to bring in new, unwrapped toys to Starbucks stores in the UAE between the 1st week of December 2008 and 1st week of January 2009. Towards the end of the campaign, Starbucks partners and willing customers will personally deliver the toys to the orphans in "Beit Al Kheir Society" orphanage in a cheerful event and enjoy quality time spent with the children of the orphanage.

Rana Shaheen, CSR and Communications Manager, Starbucks said:
"We are very excited about this initiative; not only does it stand for everything we believe in at Starbucks but also serves to make many orphans happy across the region. We are certain that our partners and customers will be enthusiastic and supportive to make the "Holiday Joy" Toys Drive successful."

"Hundreds of children around the Arab world will not have a single gift to open this holiday. This initiative aims to change that by trying to reach the largest number of orphanages across the region," she continued.

Every holiday season, Starbucks is keen on passing on smiles amongst the community. Last year, the coffee chain gave away free drinks to pedestrians who spotted the red cups on cars, as part of its last year's "Pass the Cheer" campaign, which was re-launched successfully this year.
