Nissan pick-up achieves the impossible

Mr. Attalla Al-Khalidy, free-lance worker, never imagined when he bought a 1998 Nissan pick-up that he would become the first to hold a world-record in the history of Jordan and perhaps even the entire region.

This record came on the heels of covering a total of one million kilometers in the past ten years, with no hitches or stops.

Mr. Al-Khalidy has ensured, throughout the past years, the carrying out of regular maintenance check-ups on his vehicle at the Nissan Maintenance Centre to sustain its high-standard performance.

This achievement, the first of its kind for a Nissan pick-up, prompted Bustami & Saheb Trading Co. LTD (BSTC), the exclusive dealers of Nissan in Jordan, to make Mr. Attalla Al-Khaildy the attractive offer of a free overhaul of his pick-up, as a show of the company's appreciation for his loyalty and dedication towards Nissan.

Mr. Imad Bustami, CEO of BSTC, said
"this offer is a display of the company's appreciation and gratitude for its clients, to promote their support and ensure their comfort and the continuation of their patronage."

He added "Nissan is very well known for its durability, strength and endurance, a constant and long-standing basis. We at BSTC present a car holding the features of the future, and we pledge to our clients to observe full after-sale vehicle maintenance and follow-up. This stems from our belief in the importance of promoting a collaborative relationship between the company and its target audience."

Mr. Attalla Al-Khalidy, expressing his joy at owning a Nissan pick-up, pointed out that it was a "lucky charm" of sorts, as his business has flourished in past years.

This is thanks to the unique power of endurance in these vehicles, in addition to the engines' sturdiness and durability which stand the test of long distances and allow for ease of performance throughout long continuous hours of traveling.

"I chose a Nissan pick-up for its extraordinary ability to traverse perilous and desert terrains," Mr. Al-Khaildy also said.

"The nature of my work requires transporting merchandise and equipment for long distances and in tough weather conditions, making this vehicle my favorite traveling companion wherever I go," he added.

Mr. Al-Khalidy calculates the total distance his pick-up makes in a month as between 15000 and 30000 kilometers.

This pick-up is also remarkable for its exceptional fulfillment of on-the-road functions, as the long loading-dock enhances its loading and transporting capabilities, thus allowing for an increase of load with each trip.

Mr. Al-Khaildy still remembers the summer of 2002, when he drove his pick-up through different parts of the Kingdom's for 48 hours, conducting his business tirelessly.

His pick-up also carried merchandise weighing almost 1000 kilograms, despite the vehicle's 500-kilogram weight limit.

It is worth noting that Mr. Al-Khaildy's pick-up is a 4X2 rear-wheel drive 2.7L diesel engine with a five-speed gearbox, and an extended loading-dock.

Mr. Al-Khaildy is careful about keeping his pick-up maintenance up, as evident by the fact that most of the engine parts are in the same good condition as when he first purchased the vehicle, and especially the injection, suspension and steering systems.
