AMD and XFX announce technology partnership

XFX plans to provide new products based on the award-winning ATI Radeon HD 4000 series GPUs to consumers, beginning in early 2009. Regionally, gaming enthusiasts can find XFX products in the channel through FDC International who are the local distributors for XFX in the Middle East.

ATI Radeon HD 4000 series graphics cards were first introduced in June 2008 with the arrival of ATI Radeon HD 4850 and ATI Radeon HD 4870. The two products represented the world's first graphics cards to deliver one TeraFLOPS or more of compute power, quickly establishing both as cards of choice for gamers in the performance and enthusiast segments.

The ATI Radeon HD 4870, and its dual-GPU variant, the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, continue to be the only graphics cards to utilize a frame buffer based on cutting-edge GDDR5 memory.
