- PRESS RELEASE
Splash steps into a new arena of fashion, with the launch of a collection that reflects everything that's big for AW08.
The Splash AW08 Collection is held together with one main thread which defines the look - 'Winter-brights'.
Visible across collections of all major design houses, this big style trend for AW08 showcases bold & iridescent shades of yellow, hot pink and electric blue against subdued tones of grey, black, ivory and stone.
The wide colour palette has lent itself beautifully to interpretation & expression by Splash's designers'.
Some of the key looks being showcased across Splash are subtle Winter Florals, the quintessential High-society Glamazon, the New-frontier Boho, the Disturbed Misfit, Glam-goth and Geek-turned-chic.
The Winter Florals bring with them a romanticized hand-painted patterns with delicate 'barely-there' shades of rose, pink and apricot.
The look is complete with ruffled tops and dresses, corsages used as embellishments, lace dresses and flare-legged trousers that make a statement.
The High-society Glamazon is an understated extension of the 'dressed-up' look that is created with the use of formal attire and traditional clothes and accessories - in an attempt to revive the classic-luxe & past values.
The New-frontier Boho continues to dominate with its vibrant portrayal of futuristic elements that take inspiration from nature.
Colours used reflect the inspiration from nature like brown, dull off-grape petunia, yellow and charcoal blacks.
The Disturbed Misfit shows masculine tailoring reinterpreted into voluminous feminine knits to lend a raggedy-tag silhouette and a vagabond charm.
Mens' fashion highlights low key references to the middle ages, with the Glam-goth look inspired largely by the medieval silhouette.
This translates into a trendy take on the traditional tux, and other jackets.
The colour palette is vibrant, with purple, plum and burgundy off-setted by silver, dark grey & black.
The other key look for men is 'Geek-turned-chic'.
This consists of checks, plaid, waistcoats, simple shirts, cardigans and neat trousers.
The silhouettes are clean and tidy, with ample layering.
The colour palette is a combination of neutrals such as ice-blue, stone and pebble with brights such as red, maroon, olive, yellow and expresso.
The entire AW08 collection has statement pieces that will be retailed at Splash's stores across the region.
Splash will offer fashion forward products, made of beautiful fabrics to savvy customers at absolute 'value' prices - thus not diluting its essence.
Splash winter collection is now available at Centrepoint in Rai, Salmiya, Hawally, Awqaf, Fahaheel, Jahra, Jahra Coop and The Avenues.
