EADS inaugurates Competence Center in Qatar

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS) has inaugurated recently this week the EADS Competence Center of Qatar (EADS CCQ) in the presence of Akbar Al Baker CEO Qatar Airways, and Jean-Pierre Talamoni CEO EADS International.

EADS CCQ is an advanced centre for Training, Research and Development located in 'Qatar Sciences and Technology Park' (QSTP) in Doha. The center specialises in aeronautic maintenance activities and will focus on Research & Development programmes in cooperation with universities and institutes in Qatar, the GCC and the world as well as the academic partners of Qatar Foundation.

EADS CCQ will host a Joint Venture with the French Welding Institute "Institute de Soudure" to deliver training and certification programmes for Non-Destructive Testing Technologies (NDT). The Center will also propose, in association with Airbus, certified courses and diplomas in aircraft maintenance and other aeronautical related trainings.

EADS is among the first international companies to participate in the establishment and expansion of QSTP by investing in setting up EADS Competence Center which will be a platform of excellence in the region in its fields of activities. EADS CCQ is managed by highly qualified and experienced engineers and staff dedicated to meet all customers' requirements.

QSTP is part of Qatar Foundation's strategy and vision to develop high-tech capabilities, spurs human development in Qatar by fostering education, science and community initiatives for the country. The science park supports local and international companies to establish research centres and collaborate with the universities in Qatar foundation. EADS is willing to assist Qatar Foundation in achieving its vision.
