Rashed Al Ansari, Vice President of Dubai Industrial City, said:

Identifying the region's skill pool crisis utilising advanced techniques, DIA will lead a comprehensive range of professional training programmes encompassing five different disciplines related to the manufacturing sector. Through our rich academic offerings, we aim to evolve as top providers of high-caliber manpower that caters to the region's demand in diverse industry verticals."
In its efforts to increase job opportunities for nationals in the manufacturing sector, Dubai Industrial Academy signed an MoU last July with TANMIA and the UAE Ministry of Economy.
Al Ansari added:
"In collaboration with leading private and public sector entities, Dubai Industrial Academy is working on activating and supporting strategic plans to hire nationals in the manufacturing domain. Our industry-specific training will help create a competent resource pool of professionals in the sector."
The first of its kind academy in the UAE, DIA is a dedicated vocational training centre set up by Dubai Industrial City in partnership with the UK-based Technical Training Group (TTE), recognized as a 'Centre of Vocational Excellence' by the UK Government.
Accredited by the UK-based City & Guilds, as well as the Dubai-based Knowledge and Human Development Authority, (KHDA), the DIA's short academic courses are offered to professionals in the industrial field and will primarily serve six major industrial sectors that define Dubai Industrial City including food and beverage, base metal, mineral products, chemicals, transport equipment and parts, and machinery and mechanical equipment industries.
Dubai Industrial Academy aims to offer over 250 courses in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE), Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Power Engineering, Instrumentation and Process Control, Chemical Process and Laboratory Operations, Oil and Gas, Construction, Logistics and Transport, as well as in Technical and Supervisory Development.
