Emarat employees participate in Clean-up UAE campaign

Some 50 employees of Emarat service stations took part in the Clean-up UAE 2008 campaign, organized by the Emirates Environmental Group in cooperation with the Environment Friends Society of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone Authority as well as Ajman, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain Municipalities.
Kazim said the campaign is in harmony with Emarat's aims in terms of commitment to and care for the environment when it practises its commercial activities.
He said the need for environmental awareness is now more important than in any other time in the past to face to a host of threats such desertification, rise in the production of solid waste, energy waste and gas emissions that contribute to global warming.
Clean-up UAE is a national environmental campaign involving families, schools, companies and government departments. Participants clean certain areas as a symbolic initiative towards the environment. The Emirates Environmental Group this year selected areas that represent the natural and urban environments of the seven emirates.
