ME satellite revenues continue to rise

According to Euroconsult and the London Satellite Exchange, in 2007 satellite revenue in the Middle East reached $752m. Growth in commercial satellite-lease revenues has been averaging at 12% a year with no sign of slacking. Transponder capacity is at almost a 100% operational limit leading to space being in high demand. 42% of Ku-band satellite usage within the MENA region was from television and radio broadcasts.
